Let’s Get to Know Each Other
PROCESS
A brief description of how I work with
organizations/individuals.
It has always been my contention that organizations
understand the challenges of their business better than I can. What I represent
is an outsider’s look into their business or practice. I have been finding that
a significant number of client engagements have led to discussions around
incremental changes, not major overhauls. My process is simple and flexible
based on discovery and listening:
- Establish a reason for engagement. (i.e. Increase growth, increase productivity, resolve conflict, assessment of expertise, create better alignment, improve communication, etc.)
- Talk individually with each of the principles or interested parties who are part of the cohort interested in enhancing the success of or improving the results of the organization. My goal here is to understand everyone’s perspective on what is working well, what needs improvement and what some of the barriers are preventing growth or success as defined by the organization or individual. (These sessions are typically about one hour in length but can go longer if necessary and are complementary.)
- Summarize the findings.
- Propose forward steps. This can range from me immediately suggesting steps to uncover potential next steps, or as simple as
coordinating a call with an outsource solution.
I have faith in the capabilities of the teams and
organizations I work with. You have gotten this far based on the talent and
expertise of the existing team. My job is to ask questions, understand your current circumstances better, and identify areas of improvement that can dramatically
increase your success and decrease the role of luck in achieving efficiencies
and/or a better bottom line.
